Explore Our Programs
Peoples Settlement is a cornerstone of the community, dedicated to supporting and empowering local residents. Our long-standing commitment to Wilmington includes a vibrant senior center, an intake and referral program connecting individuals to vital resources, and a Meals on Wheels program serving homebound residents.

Senior Center
Peoples Settlement Association’s Senior Center has been a vibrant gathering space for Wilmington’s seniors for over 50 years, offering social connection, recreation, and enrichment. Open to adults 55 and older, the center provides daily transportation (to and from the facility for adults ages 60+) and a variety of engaging activities, including bingo, pokeno, arts and crafts, movies, and casino trips. Seniors also benefit from health and wellness presentations, monthly birthday celebrations, and opportunities to build friendships in a welcoming environment.

Intake & Referrals
Peoples Settlement Association’s Intake and Referral Program connects individuals and families in Wilmington to essential services and resources. Whether seeking housing assistance, healthcare, employment support, or other vital programs, our team provides guidance and referrals to trusted community partners. Through personalized support, we help individuals navigate available services to meet their needs and improve their quality of life. Individuals may call or walk-in (once the building is open in early 2026) to inquire about referrals to essential services.

Meals on Wheels
Peoples Settlement Association partners with City Fare Meals on Wheels, a program of Saint Anthony’s Community Center that has operated in Wilmington since 1986 to delivers nutritious meals to homebound seniors in Wilmington’s East Side and Southbridge communities. This service ensures that older adults receive balanced meals while also benefiting from regular wellness checks and social interaction. By supporting seniors who may have difficulty preparing meals on their own, we help promote health, independence, and overall well-being.
“Some have sight. They open their eyes and see what is. And some have vision, they close their eyes and see the future.”
Ted Blunt (1943-2024)
Expanding Our Impact: A New Era for PSA
In 2026, PSA will expand its impact with the opening of a newly renovated facility, designed to foster multi-generational engagement. The modernized building will feature upgraded facilities, including elevators, classrooms, and a gymnasium, creating a dynamic space where children can access after-school programs, teens can develop leadership skills, and adults can participate in community activities. Some of our future programs include a health and wellness program, housing services program, and lease space for satellite offices that meets community needs.
